How to Buy Organic and Non-GMO Food at Wholesale Prices

Grocery shopping has never been my favorite part of the week.  There’s just something a bit dreadful about going aisle by aisle to find what I need, checking out, putting the groceries in my car, driving home and unloading the car. And let’s not even begin talking about how this process goes when the kids are involved.  The grocery shopping experience has come a long way with curb side pickup and delivery options.  However, for a variety of reasons,  I have not found them to work well for me.  So, when I heard about Thrive Market – online grocery, focused solely on organic and non-gmo food and home products at wholesale prices, I thought it was too good to be true.  But, I was so anxious to try it out!   After my first delivery, I was hooked! Finally – great products at great prices, without having to leave my home!

 What is Thrive Market?

Thrive Market is an online marketplace, offering the world’s bestselling natural and organic, non-perishable products at wholesale prices.  Think Costco meets Whole Foods, with the convenience of online shopping through Amazon. For a $59.95 annual membership (less than $5 per month), members can shop 3,000 of the highest quality organic and non-gmo food, supplements, personal care, and home/beauty products.  Thrive Market offers over 400 of the best brands on the market today, for 25-50% off retail prices, delivered straight to your doorstep.

Thrive Market Savings

How does Thrive Market keep their prices lower than retail?  Thrive Market cuts out all of the middlemen and works directly with the brands.  When you shop at Thrive Market, next to each item you will find the average retail price and the price you will pay through Thrive Market.  I’ve looked into the retail prices very closely (because this is the researcher side of me) and they are very realistic.  When you checkout, you are shown what you have saved by using Thrive Market vs. Retail.  In just my first two purchases, my membership paid for itself two times over, as it showed I saved $126.99!

I recently did some price comparisons between Thrive Market and the local grocery store I shop at.  I specifically looked at items I buy on a regular basis.  Below are a few of my findings. (prices as of September 20, 2017)

Thrive Market Gives Back

One of the things I love about Thrive Market is that they have a passion for making healthy food available for everyone.  Through the company’s Thrive Gives initiative, every paid membership is matched with a free membership for a low income American family, teacher, veteran, or student.  By using Thrive Market, you are helping to make a difference for someone who does not have the resources to buy healthier food and household products.  I love this! Furthermore, Thrive Market takes action in so many other ways.  With the recent hurricane disasters, Thrive Market put together a great action plan that you can find here.  I love standing behind and using a company that is making such a positive impact in our local communities.

Thrive Market Delivery Feels Like Christmas

Thrive Market

I buy almost all of our non-perishable products on Thrive Market now.  As a result, boxes at our doorstep are a regular occurrence, and my kids get so excited every time.  No joke, you’d think it’s Christmas to see their faces light up over a box of cereal!  And I enjoy sitting back and watching them while reminiscing on my super chaotic, endless trips to the grocery store that have now decreased so drastically.

How I Use Thrive Market

As I said earlier, I buy almost all of our non-perishable products on Thrive Market now. If you do not live close to a health food store that is moderate in price, buying healthy options at your local grocery can be really expensive! And the alternative is to buy the non-organic, gmo brands that are in your budget.  I get it, I’ve been there.  This is one of the main reasons I am SO passionate about Thrive Market.  You can finally buy organic, non-gmo, real food without breaking the bank, going store to store, or driving across town.

If there are items you know you need every week/month, you can set the item to autoship, and Thrive Market will send the item(s) automatically based on your preference.  If you want to completely re-order a previous order, you can do this too!

Recently, someone told me they consciously shop the perimeter of the grocery store where all of the fresh, non-preservative foods are.  In so many of our local grocery stores, the inner parts of the store are filled with a lot of junk.  I love being able to skip the inner parts of the grocery store now. Instead, I shop on Thrive Market  for the needed “inner grocery store” items that are actually clean and wholesome for my family!

Trial Membership

I’m not one to pay a membership for something without trying it out first.  I tried Thrive Market for 30 days before signing up and I highly recommend doing this (even though I think you’ll be sold on it)! Thrive Market offers a 30 day free trial membership.  With this 30 day trial, you will receive free shipping PLUS 25% off your first purchase (that’s a crazy good savings)!
